Who loves a good slide? 🙋♀️
In honor of the end of Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE)‘s Corporate Compliance & Ethics Week, I wanted to share two slides with the compliance community – one tried and true and one brand new!
The first is one of my favorites. I use it when highlighting the importance of a robust risk assessment process and methodology in a compliance program. I’ve achieved a lot of 💡moments with this visual when trying to explain how risk assessment is “front and center” in the most recent guidance from the Department of Justice, and what the guidance calls for (process ✅, resource allocation ✅, updates ✅, lessons learned ✅)
The second slide is new!😯 It’s inspired by a “wheel” visual shared at the SCCE conference by Nathanial Edmunds and Dr. Jan Knop from Airbus, and Karl Hennessee from Paul Hastings during their “Building the Plane While Flying” course. The 21-page DOJ document can be intimidating at first and sometimes challenging to explain to an audience of business stakeholders unfamiliar with legal & compliance documents. Hopefully this visual can help you and your teams “steer” through the guidance using the three fundamental questions as guides…
Let me know what you think – is the steering wheel helpful? I love feedback!
